Okanagan Falls to Kentucky-Alleyne Provincial Park, B.C.

29 September 2010 - Wednesday

The truck ... still being fixed.  The shop promised it would be ready later today.

The campground attendant indicated it wasn't a problem if we missed the 11 a.m. check-out time.  He said it wasn't busy and the delay wasn't our fault, so no issue.
If we were still there at 5 p.m. though, then another night's fee would be payable.
That was a relief!

So ... needed to kill some time.  Decided to walk to the grocery store.  While we were shopping the power went out!  So the store had to close without warning.  No groceries!  If it wasn't for bad luck we wouldn't have had any luck on this trip!

At about noon, the repair shop phoned.  The truck was ready.  They were sending someone to get Steve so he didn't have to ride his bike to Penticton!  Yippee!

Steve was back with a fixed truck at about 2 p.m.  We loaded the truck, hitched the fifth wheel, and headed out at 3 p.m.!  OK Falls was nice enough, but we prefer the woods!  Still didn't know where we'd be tonight; only knew we'd be someplace else!

Turned north on Hwy 97 and then west on Hwy 3A.

Then continued west on Highway 3 to Highway 5A which headed north towards Merritt.  At about 4:30 p.m. we were at the Allison Lake provincial park & campground on Hwy 5A.  It was too close to the highway and seemed a little rough.  So carried on ...

At 5:30 arrived at Kentucky-Alleyne Provincial Park (Google Map link).  We've always liked this campground so were content to settle in for the evening. It was quiet, not overly busy, and the weather was wonderful!
