Yukon Sights by Sue Thomas

Driving from Yukon to Vancouver Island BC

14 September 2007

Arrived at Liard Hot Springs early in the evening and were anxious to take a nice long soak. There was a lot of dust from the South Canol, Campbell Hwy and Nahanni Range Road to soak away! We stayed at Liard until September 17.

17 September 2007 we headed south on the Alaska Highway

This is some of the scenery southeast of Liard Hot Springs.

Light snow had fallen while we were southbound on the Alaska Highway

The snow stayed with us so we kept making miles until we encountered a small rest area that was suited for an overnight stay.

18 September 2007

We woke in the morning to about 4" of snow. After breakfast we hit the road intending to make the provincial campground at Bear Lake, just north of Prince George.

We arrived at Bear Lake in the early evening. It's a large campground with many campsites.

Monck Provincial Park near Merritt B.C. It was a sad knowing this was our last night to camp on the road. However, the weather was warm, the sun was shining, and the view was very nice ...
