Heading home to Vancouver Island from the Yukon

14 September 2007

Arrived at Liard Hot Springs in the early evening and were anxious to visit the springs for a nice long soak. There was a lot of dust from the South Canol, Campbell Hwy and Nahanni Range Road to soak away! We stayed at Liard until September 17.

The snow stayed with us so we kept making miles until we encountered a small rest area that was perfectly suited for an overnight boondock.

18 September 2007

We woke in the morning to about 4" of snow.  After a quick breakfast and some hot coffee, we hit the road intending to make the provincial campground at Bear Lake, just north of Prince George.

We arrived at Bear Lake in the early evening.  It's a large campground with many campsites.  We were the only ones there initially and then another pulled in about 30 minutes later.  We had to wonder why they chose to park in the site next to ours ...

Monck Provincial Park near Merritt B.C.

It was a sad evening, knowing this was our last night on the road.
However, the weather was warm, the sun was shining, and the view was very nice ...
